Anne produces functional pottery for everyday use glazed in colours reflecting her environment. Working in porcelain for over 25 years, Anne finds the intrinsic beauty of this dense white clay suits her functional forms. The translucency, whiteness and surface qualities of porcelain complement her elegant pieces. What is most important to her is the feeling a piece expresses, through its form, colour and energy.
An active participant in the craft community Anne has volunteered many years for both The Ottawa Guild of Potters and FUSION: the Ontario Clay and Glass Association serving as President on both boards.
A strong believer in mentoring, Anne has presented many throwing and glazing workshops to Pottery guilds around the province as well as teaching pottery classes from her studio.
In 2008 Anne was presented with the prestigious Ontario Craft Council’s lifetime achievement John Mather Award in recognition of her contribution and support of craft in Ontario.

September Scribailo
mixed media artist

September works in encaustics; natural beeswax, damar resin, and pigments all on birch panels. She works quickly, setting down layers of colour, then fusing them and allowing the form of the painting to emerge from her imagination, memories, or from what the wax presents. Her favourite media include but are not limited to: acrylics, encaustic, oil paint, collage, charcoal + oil pastels which she frequently combines in her mixed media pieces.
The luminosity, the aroma, textures and the naturalness are a happy thing! No two paintings can be the same, so there is always originality. There is an emphasis on the ‘everyday’ – flowers, plants, and the beauty of household items. Sizes range from 3″ X 3″ upwards.
