Dawn King has been making rustic furniture for over 15 years. She uses sturdy, longlasting local white cedar, working with the graceful lines naturally present in the wood. While her emphasis is on garden furnishings, many of her pieces are also suitable for indoor use. Combining practicality and beauty, she offeres arbors for gardens and weddings, mosaic tables, bent twig chairs and sofas, and many other items. She also teaches workshops at her studio near Perth and at the MacLachlin Woodworking Museum just outside of Kingston. These classes take place throught the spring, summer and fall and are great fun. You will take home your own masterpiece after enjoying a pleasant day in the country and the company of good people.

September works in encaustics; natural beeswax, damar resin, and pigments all on birch panels. She works quickly, setting down layers of colour, then fusing them and allowing the form of the painting to emerge from her imagination, memories, or from what the wax presents.
The luminosity, the aroma, textures and the naturalness are a happy thing! There is an emphasis on the ‘everyday’ – flowers, plants, and the beauty of household items. Sizes range from 3″ X 3″ upwards.
